More than likely, you have heard about the benefits of lowering the amount of carbohydrates you consume in order to help lose weight and maintain blood glucose levels that are within normal limits.

In an effort to help patients gain better control of their diabetes, many providers have instituted what is now referred to as “Therapeutic Carbohydrate Restriction” as part of their diabetes management strategy. This is supported by clinical research, and in fact is recommended as the FIRST line of defense in controlling diabetes.
